One to one, online

One to one therapy, online

Some things are hard to put into words. That's not a problem here, and it's not something you need to fix before we start.

As a creative psychotherapist and HCPC-registered dramatherapist, I offer a space to explore your identity, emotional distress, relationship patterns and the impact of past experiences.

Talking is part of my work but we may also use other creative ways to explore your experiences. Depending on what feels right for you, I may incorporate art, music, body-based approaches and play. It really depends on who you are and how you like to relate.

Is this you?

You don't have to be sure therapy is right for you.

Are you questioning your identity, sexuality, or trying to work out what you really want from life outside of the needs of others?

You might feel like everyone else was given a rulebook for life that you somehow missed, or have recently received an autism or ADHD diagnosis and want to better understand yourself.

You might be struggling with overwhelming feelings and want to find ways to respond that feel better for you.

You might want support in navigating difficult conversations and communicating your needs to the people in your life.

How I work

More than one way in.

My approach is integrative. I draw on somatic work as well as talking, art, music and image, in whatever combination works best for you, so there is more flexibility and more than one way in.

I'm training in Somatic Trauma Therapy with Babette Rothschild, and I'm a qualified yoga teacher.

My aim is to create enough space and safety for us to become curious about what's happening for you, at your own pace.

What it's actually like

You don't need to have the words.

We start with a free consultation, so you can get a feel for me before committing to anything.

Sessions are online. There's no script and no set exercise you have to perform. Some people talk. Some people find it easier to start with what they notice in their body, or with something creative, or with silence. All of that is legitimate work.

I'm currently training in somatic trauma therapy, which shapes a lot of how I work: gently, at your pace, and with a lot of attention to what feels safe.

Young people and adolescents

Teenagers don't always want to sit and talk about how they feel, and they shouldn't have to.

Dramatherapy uses play, story, movement and creativity as the way in, so a young person can explore something difficult in a language that makes sense to them.

I work with children and young people directly, and I'm particularly interested in the experiences that are hard to describe but easy to feel in the body.

Environments matter as much as sessions do, so where I'm working with a young person, I'd usually want to be thinking alongside the adults around them too.

If a young person needs something I'm not the right person for, I'll say so and point you towards who is.

What you don't need

You don't need a diagnosis.

You don't need a referral.

You don't need to have worked out what's wrong or rehearsed how to explain it.

You just need to be curious about starting.

We can take it from there.

You don't have to be sure therapy is right for you before getting in touch. You are welcome to send an email or arrange a free consultation.
